Did you know!!

Journal Entry: Sat May 26, 2012, 1:55 AM

A little bit of a "DID YOU KNOW?!?!

Did you know, DAS has 9,681 watches?
Did you know, DAS has 1,164,904 pageviews?
Did you know, DAS has too many secrets in its gallery to count them all :giggle:
Did you know, since DAS has been open, the secrets have been viewed more then 15,000,000 times :O :faint:
Did you know, secret 11631 has the most comments, with over 1,000 comments.
Did you know, secret 11614 has the most faves , with over 4,000 faves.
Did you know, the secret viewed the most is secret 11614, with over 53,000 views.

Just a little useless information for you all :D

Comments

We realise a lot of you are biting at the bit to know what is going on with the comments.
You may have noticed by now "some" and ONLY some secrets have the comments turned on.

This does not mean all comments will now be turned on.
We would like to slowly start turning the comments on, but before we can do this, we need to be sure all is well in the comment department.
Please do not ask to have comments turned on when you send your secret in. At this stage, only a few secrets at a time will have the comments turned on, you however do not have a say in this. Unless you ask for comments to be turned off. Then they will stay off, we will never turn comments on if you ask them to be turned off.

From what we have seen by some of your responses to the comments being turned off. You are only proving our point.  Its not just about the negative comments given. You may want to think about that and remember it for the future :)
Comments will be back on in time. You all need to relax a little and let it be what it is. No amount of complaining is going to make things speed up.
Thank you to all of you who have supported us, and understood our reasons for turning the comments off to start with.

.JPG V PNG

So many secrets being sent in as a PNG. We DO NOT accept PNG files. we ONLY accept .JPG files.
It has been explained time and time again why this is how it is. If you are one of the people who have been complaining about it, please take a moment to read back though other journals where it has all been explained.
But for those of you who would rather not. We will explain in short.
JPG files are smaller
They are just as good as any other file for what is needed in DAS
They are easier to read if virus's have been added to them. (Virus scanners like jpg files better )
JPG are a lot quicker and easier to work with.

These are a few reasons.

DAS REPLYING

Please remember, DAS DOES NOT!!! reply to your questions or comments on the profile page/ journals/ secrets.
If you have a question of any sort, please dont ask it on DAS, send us a quick note, or email with your questions. We always reply to them if sent via notes or emails. Other then that we DO NOT reply to comments. You will be wasting your time asking a question anywhere else if you are wanting DAS to answer.
The members of DAS are more then welcome to reply to any questions other members have to ask though. Or if you would like to answer a question someone has asked, but are not too sure of the answer, you are welcome to note us, and ask us what the correct answer is, so you can reply with the correct answer.  ( Maybe we need a team of members who do just that? Food for thought there )

I posted a secret because I wanted to be comforted. Yet I can't even ask for comments to be turned on.
I'm fucking done with you, DAS. What's the point of DAS without comments.

I have a suggestion for you? I have a hard time reading some of the words on the art and I'm on a PS3.. would it be asking too much of you to write them in the comments? *Thanks* <3

I think the secret teller should make that decision, to have or not have comments.

This is why.
Shame on you for not at least letting those who asked for kind words receive them.

Same here. I can't stand people who have to act like more of a prick than the flamers.

Was it the honesty and provocation for discussions from posts that made you drop the comments?
What's the point in sharing secrets with people if they aren't allowed to give their opinions on them?

I feel that the submitter should have the right to choose weather or not they would like comments shown or not. It's their secret, shouldn't they get to decide how it's treated? And if they end up "accidentally" revealing themselves, well, that's their choice. Yeah, yeah, I get "If you don't like it, don't submit here!" but this is such a large community, it seems unfair to treat it as a monarchy, and let just the few decide how it will function and run, ESPECIALLY if it goes against the views and opinions of the majority of the group.

I can deal with comments being turned off, but I think the secret teller should get to say if they want comments on. If you're worried about negative comments, people not following the rules, or whatever, the st should have the final say. If they can deal with potential negative comments and flames then that is up to them. Why should DAS have a say over this?

If I submitted a secret, I think I have the right to decide whether or not I want comments on it. Because, personally, I like seeing what people think, advise, or perceive from whatever I'd put up.

It's understandable to disable comments should the submitter request it, if the secret is getting flames, or if it's of sensitive material, but to apply that doctrine to all secrets - especially without your say in the matter - isn't fair at all.
