Self Taken Images
Due to copyright issues, DAS can no longer accept submissions that contain self-taken images. This is due to a number of secret tellers changing their minds and asking for the secret to be removed. Unless everyone who sends in a secret also signs an image release form, DAS cannot use your image. As asking every secret teller to submit a form is a little OTT, DAS is no longer accepting secrets that contain images you, the secret teller, have taken. Please note you can still submit secrets that use drawings you have done yourself, or you can use stock. Our shoutboard has a list of stock artists that have already given permission for their stock to be used for secrets.
This is not a DAS decided rule; this is a dA rule. Please do not send notes to DAS complaining about it it is out of our hands. DAS is just as disappointed as out secret tellers. However, dA needs a signed form. A disclaimer in our journals or implied permission in your emails isnt enough. As an account of dA, we have to follow their policies.
FAQ #193: How do I prove that I had permission to use someone's work?
also, if I did submit, it would be a finished picture, and that would be how I would want it to appear - is this allowed, because the system seems a little like I send an image and what I want written on it, and they get put together by DAS.
I think it's a great idea though, just a little confusing.
The picture should be finished (the text should be on the picture). DAS just wants to post the secret. They won't add anything to your picture, I think.
You can't submit photos you took yourself because of DA's rules.
Dunno if it's clearer now... ^^'
now I want to check!
