"If it's emotional it's art" - Art is using the emotions to create things that people can enjoy and relate to. Art isn't admitting to liking kiddies, people who are at least 10 years older than you, being bullied or just liking somebody. HOWEVER, The secrets can be turned into art somehow, maybe the people being bullied could use the emotional stress from bullying to CREATE art, but the secrets here aren't art, besides, even if it is Art... doesn't that mean that DAS is using other people's pain and emotion to get credit and watchers?  While I do think that art is subjective, the amount if depressing and fake secrets are quite annoying...
Before anyone replies: If it wasn't the same secret over and over, or if they put at least a bit more effort into these secrets, then it wouldn't be quite that bad.

Oh wait you wouldn't understand You don't have problems While we sit through popular people and bullies and people want to talk it out So don't come in saying they suck because your just being the bully  yeah know, sometimes it is better for someone to sit in silence than to proceed with disagreement. Especially if that's person's argument isn't valid
Argument? It was an opinion. She didn't have to respond, neither do you. Just know, that all opinions are valid. Some people may not agree with them, and they may not change anything at all, but they are valid nonetheless. My opinion was that this page, which I actually like (Somewhat), would be a lot better if people at least tried to be original or artistic when sending the secrets in. That said....I cannot say that what they do send in is not art because art is subjective.
Who's to say these secrets aren't original or artistic? Art is in the eye of thee beholder is it not?
I have a lot of experience with people who go through suffering, and a lot of it is very similar. but that doesn't mean their suffering isn't original. That's like saying 'we all cut because our dad' hits us or 'I'm gonna commit suicide cause I've been bullied'. There are a lot of people who aren't good at explaining themselves in complete detail yet they need to say it for coping sake, what right do we have to say "be more original" or "be more artist"? perhaps being able to come out and confess is art in its own way. You contradict yourself when you say "It would be a lot better if people at least tried to be original or artistic when sending the secrets in. ART IS SUBJECTIVE: it is original and artistic in the eyes of it's creator Indeed.....To be honest, I seem to contradict myself a lot. I honestly didn't mean to offend anyone, I just thought quick little doodle here or there might make this pages slightly less annoying, and then people might leave this page alone. Hell, this page is considered to be a joke by MANY of dA members (I, personally, think it's interesting...but who am I to have an opinion?), and maybe people would just leave it the hell alone if people took longer than two minutes in MS paint and tried to be more creative like: [link], [link], and
[link]. Or, at least, BE SECRETS unlike the one that made it to the front page yesterday. |
