I totally get how you feel, ST.

Because, apparently, there's always some sort of "romantic underlying" with a friend, especially if y'all are of the opposite sex. For example, I have a lot of guy friends and I've been called a "whore" and accused with sleeping with all of them because I'm close to all of 'em. Society is fucked like that, I guess. It's ridiculous.

But, like the others have said, as long as both you and your friends acknowledge that your relationship is platonic, then who cares about what other people say?

If some of your friends don't understand what you mean by "I love you", then clarify for them. That just saves a whole load of awkwardness and drama...

Because all affection is sexual yer know :/ I think the ancient Greeks had it right - 3 different words for love, each of them meaning a different thing.

It's a strange twist that society took, isn't it? But it's not entirely out-of-bounds -- it just depends on the friends.

Some aren't comfortable with it, which is okay, I mean, everyone is entitled to their feelings.

My friends? They said it to me first.

Since I was once a shy girl I wouldn't have dared say it myself but they opened me up quite a bit so I say it all the time.

Also, when I don't want to say, "I love you," but I want to give someone love I say, "Much love. <3"

I tell my friends I love them all of the time. :] "I love you", "I love you so much", "from the depth of my heart".... I don't get why some people are so weird with that kind of stuff. :/ If feels nice to hear and say them, and we CARE and ADORE these people.... Maybe you can say to your friends what I do for a certain friend who feels weird with those three words.... I'll tell them "I love you SO MUCH as a friend." If you add "as a friend" at the end, sometimes it makes it less awkwkard.
