I imagine the question is rhetorical, but my guess is, because you're not confident in your own beauty. Therefor, you invent an imaginary boyfriend for yourself, and make him blind so that he can't see you. I'm sure you're a very lovely person. I'm sure the imaginary world must have some medical advances that would give him his sight back.
