Christmas is quite secular these days, people of all faiths and no faith at all can celebrate it (my family are all pretty much atheist and we have Christmas together with presents and such), not particularly as Joshua of Nazareth's birthday (because he was probably born in the summer anyway), but just as a winter festival of family and friendship.
Funnily enough, Christmas wasn't always Christmas, it's in the middle of winter because originally it was a Pagan mid-winter Solstice festival, when the Romans converted to Christianity they wanted to keep the festival so they decided to have it as Christmas.
