I have a friend exactly like this. They asked me to refer to them as it. I feel it sounds derogatory, but if it's what they want, I'll do it. I still always write 'she' when I'm talking about them, and then I quickly backspace and write it, but if you could always say 'genderless', that's what my friend does. Don't feel bad about it though, it's just who you are, and isn't that nice?
