Oh honey, there's nothing wrong with not likeing your roommate. It's hard to live with someone, it really is. It takes work and sometimes even then it doesn't work out. Heck, my roommate had to switch rooms because I talk (apperently loudly) in my sleep and she wasn't getting any rest.

This is true for me, she was my friend, but now she eats all my food.. takes my stuff.. and her boyfriend is here all the time (and no, he's not nice...)

that happened to a good friend of mine. she moved in with her best friend in college dorm, but by the end of the year the two of them were having frequent fights, they couldn't get along anymore.

so, next year, they decided to change rooms, they were still on the same floor, close by, so they could see each other whenever they wanted and still have privacy. that really saved their friendship.

for me, it was exactly the opposite :) i didn't know my roommates, since in freshman year we were randomly assigned to the rooms. we were opposite personalities, clashing in many ways and if we didn't live together, i wouldn't have even spoke to them at school.

but it turned out we completed each other, we shared college life with good and bad things, and the two of them are now my best friends. that still amazes me...

They say "You never know people til you live with them." They also say, "Good fences make good neighbors."

Maybe you two are not compatible under the same roof. Maybe your friend feels the same way about you. Maybe too much togetherness is dangerous to this particular friendship.

It may be better for you both to find other roommates so you can still be friends.
