I'm sorry, but the way this was worded made me a little annoyed. I may not know the whole story, but could you try to empathise with him? Have you never "liked" someone who had feelings for someone else? Or could you possibly just tell him?
If you tell him and he continues on like this, then fine, it's not your problem. But he needs to know how you're feeling about him so he doesn't have false hope, or continues behaving the way he is, or so he can move on.
