I wish I had other options too. We lack them so much. I'm dropping out because of it. I think it'll make me happier to jump to a college even though I can't get into a good one yet.

Hopefully you do something to better fit you.

I was homeschooled for my high school life.
I was completely and utterly miserable. I wanted the high school life. People told me it I didn't miss much, but because they only experienced what they wanted.

I would have thrown myself to the wolves and crawled out with the alpha male's skull.

I agree. I wanted to drop out my junior year and try unschooling. My mom said we would discuss it after I pased my junior year, but my father wouldn't hear of it. So come September, I'll be back in school... But thankfully I will only have to take 1 or 2 classes that I didn't choose because tehre aren't many required classes for seniors. If you'd like to discuss this with them let me recommend the book The Teenage Liberation Handbook: How to Quit School and Get a Real Life and Education by Grace Llewellyn. I have it, it's great. If it doesn't work out, just stick it through. If they're going to make you, you might as well just get the diploma. It'll make life easier anyway (as much as I hate to say it).

I feel you. I still have one more year to go and it's going to be the longest year ever. I don't know how much longer you have but just hang in there, you can do it!

Blehh. I know what you mean, kiddo. I just graduated and I am so glad to be out of there. I'm not sure if you had the same thing, but for me it was the people. But senior year will go by really fast. You'll get to winter break, then spring break, and then boom, graduation. You can make it!

Wow. :[ I know a lot of people hate (my) high school, but I enjoy it. It was so much better than middle school; I've got three years to go, but I'm scared. ><

But you can pull through. It can't be much longer now. What's a few years to a whole lifetime?

I don't know what your homelife is like, but you might have other options. I'd check out the Teenage Liberation Handbook, by Grace Llewellyn. Highschool is not the only way to get educated, and probably not even the best. Whatever you end up doing, I pray you find a way to be happy.

I hated highschool almost purely for the people in it. I couldn't go a day without sitting there and fuming because of how much I hated those people that made the experience so much worse. I didn't even see what the big fuss was about walking at graduation, I just wanted to be done with it, screw the cap and gown bullcrap.

I don't blame you. High School is a cesspool of betrayal and despair...or that's how I remember it. If you're not this way or that, then you may as well be dead. I hated having to always be "put" into a group because no one wanted me there otherwise.

If it weren't for the one friend who was just as outcasted as me, I could say, without exaggeration, that there was nothing I liked leaving behind in that hell. Just try and hold on; once it's done, you never have to return.

High school is a terrible experience while you are living through it, but looking at it through the lense of time you will see that it was some of the most care-free and wonderful years of your life.

As long as you are awakened to the ridiculousness of it all, you can look upon it with bemusement

Well.. I only have one year left of school and honestly, as excited as I am to leave, I'm kinda sad. I won't be seeing lots of my friends again, at least not after a little while, most likely, and I'm so involved with stuff (choir, musicals, etc.) that I'm actually going to miss it, at least for a little while. I'm going to be sad at grad I think. High school has actually been an amazing, amazing experience for me so far, and it makes me sad that it's not like that for everyone.

heh, I was lucky. I dispised my high school, and by my sophmore year was mostly repeating shit I already knew anyway. So my parents let me drop put of public school and get a GED.

Anyway, best of luck to you ST

people cause drama everywhere
i graduated high school two years ago,
and there's not any less drama in college or at work than there was in high school/middle school
it's just that when you get older
(as long as you're not the one causing the drama)
you start to realize that it doesn't matter any more
and you start to figure otu how to live your life without letting the idiots affect you as much as they did in high school.

I'm done with the homework, and the projects, and the superficial people. I have 2 more years. However, I love highschool. I love my friends and the memories.

All I can say is try to make the best of it, cause it only lasts a few short years of your life (well, they feel long).

so true! right now I'm in the middle of highschool it's been so hard...specially because I don't like what I am studying and I feel I can't give up 'cause my parents would be even more disappointed with me 'cause 'till now I've never been able to finish anything :X but the thing that makes me even sad it's to know that I am doing this for them and yet they can't show me respect for that. :|
