Well, I talk to myself, but just because I'm a fantastic conversationalist. ;P
I'm sure what you have to say isn't stupid. Try saying the stuff you'd keep to your self to other people.

I do that all the time.

Most of the time i just talk to myself because im literally too quiet to be heard. I back down alot & let people take over in conversation. im not the loudest person in the room. and im not ther smartest person in the room.

I pretend people listen sometimes even though i know they dont

I'd listen to you if we spoke & I don't think you'd sound stupid.

I talk to myself as well for the same reason!! It's only recently that I've become more confident with myself and who I am!!

If people think or say you're stupid just because of what you say, then that's their problem not yours!! You're just being yourself!! Don't be afraid to say what you think!!

Oh man, I feel you on this one.

Stay strong. For everyone one person who thinks what you say is stupid, there is someone who won't. And there are people who will love you even if you do say something silly, because we're only human, and we do it all the time. Doesn't mean it has to be a big deal, you know?

A lot of people WILL think what you have to say is stupid... and a lot of people will NOT. People are very opinionated, including myself. Many people think they know more or are better than others and act as such... wrong as they are. You have to remember that no matter where you go and what you do... there will be people who agree, and people who do not. That should NOT change how you act or the things you say. People will always have differing opinions but that doesn't mean either is wrong. Tell us your opinions, thoughts, ideas.... whatever you want... Use us here at DAS as a test if you will... Think of something that you feel very strongly about and come see how we all react... BUT keep in mind that people may not agree with you. If you do that... you might find it isn't so hard to have a thoughtful, intelligent, discussion with people... Even those of opposing sides.

i talk to myself, i dont know why...
but, sometimes my friends see me doing this and kindof look at me, shake their heads a bit and walk away..............

advice for you: dont be afraid of people thinking your stupid. (sometimes im certin every one thiks im stupid, but then there all your soooo smart) so if your still in school to, try to do really good on tests and what kinda helps.

{this is probly not the best advice, but hey i tried;p}

Ok, tips for you:

1. Use the talking to yourself as speech practice: imagine you're in front of an audience and you want to make them aware of the importance of... hot chocolate for example!

2. Use the fear you feel talking to people as a motivation to get your whole point across. My best friend had a fear of calling people on the phone (taking calls she was fine with strangely enough) and it took her years (and plenty of me kicking her with my Positive Mental Attitude stick!) to come to terms and deal with it. She now is quite confident using the phone to talk to someone if she has to.

So imagine someone is constantly trying to push your back against a wall everytime you talk about, say, the importance of a cup of hot chocolate and you're trying really hard to get them to listen. The more you push forward, the more you're convincing yourself that you need to be heard, the more likely the (imaginary) person will stop pushing you against the wall. If you let them push you (in other words, if you let the fear stop you from expressing yourself) then they will stop listening to you because ultimately they might be trying to push you around to see if you're going to react. If you don't then they will lose interest so it might be a good idea to get them to notice that you do have things to say and that if they are interesting, even only to you, then it makes them valid and worthy to be expressed.

Everybody has different views and opinions and whoever tells you to shut up, be quiet and that you're wrong before you had the chance to express yourself is really just a bully and an ignorant person. I wouldn't want to waste much time discussing with such people, they are not usually worth the trouble.

Wooh! That was a long comment, I do not I've not lost the point I was trying to make along the way.

Good luck!

I talk to myself too. and it is stupid. But I talk to other people also, and they don't mind that much =D
DiamondRaider Featured By Owner Aug 4, 2007   Writer
I do too. But don't be afraid all the time. Speak up. Be heard. After all, "Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind!"
