Hey it's ok! If you mean you're bad with words while talking I'm with you there. When I write, I mean really write, it's with eloquence, grace and class but I turn into a stuttering mess when I try to talk. It's perfectly ok.
BunnyEggs Featured By Owner Jul 12, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
I can completely relate

The Words I write come out easy. But I can never seem to say the right Words...
CatWithWings Featured By Owner Jun 27, 2013  Student General Artist
You most definitely are not. I am, too. I'm horrible with words. And you know what? It's okay that neither of us are good with words. What matters is that we say them. It doesn't matter what the other person 'wants to hear'. What they don't want to hear is often what we need to say. :)
A-shatered-heart Featured By Owner Jun 27, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
Your not the only one  I love to write but can never get the right words out. Your not a failure and nor am I. We both just need to let the words flow out. And if others don't like it then ignore them. They don't have the right to put you or me down. Smile and let those words flow

I'm a future author, and what I say and write when put on the spot is terrible in comparison to my actual well thought out writing.
You're an author, not a debater. Don't be so hard on yourself
Gaanata Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2013
no, you're not. i'm bad with words, too. it's one of the reasons I don't talk to anyone. I know what i'm feeling and what I want to say, but I can't get the words out.
skygal333 Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
I know how it is.
I've practiced a lot and there are stories where I know exactly how to covey my words. I'm superb at fiction and fanfiction from what my readers & friends say.
Then, when I'm pressured by school or important people to write something or I'm given a topic (especially one I don't care as much about), I don't do as well.

It's because of this, yesterday at college, I got placed in regular English class instead of advanced. Even though everyone I know says I deserved that advanced spot.

Try reading 'Mismatched.' Honey, THAT'S a writer who's bad with words.
JigglyPuffBall Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2013  Student General Artist
Not the only one dear. I am just like you. I am a writer that is so bad with words it's comedic. You can't let that worry you though. It will come with more and more practise. That's how I remain vigilant. Practise will make me better! It will do the same for you!
EvilBabyBunnies Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
I've read some authors who aren't the best with words, but it doesn't take away from how good their stories or ideas are. You probably just need a bit of practice. Good luck in the future! :D
ravenaudron Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
I too write things out better than I can get my thoughts out verbally. It sucks!
AngeloftheBloodyRose Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2013
Hey, don't be sad! Just ask someone to write stories with your ideas. That would be better, I think. :3
KatarinaSalen Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2013
you can do it! just continue! XD

hey guess what? thats a lie- i stumble over my words, and say things at the wrong times, and this is when im speaking english, the only lanugish i know- and i don't have any disabilites (i am ashmatic, but that doesn't affect this)
emoturtlefrk Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2013  Hobbyist Digital Artist
In time, it'll become easier. I'm right there with you
Eremitik Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2013
Then maybe you should choose another profession?? Or work harder to get better.
confidenceAlive Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
It's only a little bit about how skilled you are, and mostly just about why you love doing what you do. Because here's the thing. If you love something enough to put your mind to it, you can learn, and practice, and become better at it. Don't worry, a lot of artists feel inadequate, but art is always changing, there will always be someone who you see as more talented. What matters is that you express yourself in what you do, because that is what art--and being human--is all about. And in that sense? We're all artists, and we're all the best in our own given ways, because each of our methods of expression is our own unique language. So speak it loud
lumberjacksnackpack Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
I'm exactly the same, don't worry, you're not alone c:
Renval Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
I can't phrase my thoughts verbally to save my life. I've had to write more letters than I'd like, but I guess some people just can't communicate well verbally.
x-3-R-R-0-R-x Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Student Digital Artist
Actually, great writers are sometimes very inept when it comes to describing themselves away from pen and paper. They make up this illusion of eloquence and charisma with how beautiful their words flow together while they might actually be horrible speakers. Trust me, I would know. Just saying, you're certainly not alone.
KairiStar728 Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013
You are not. I'm probably worse... for proof... I had the police called on me due to a miscommunication... Fail on their part and mine...
animegirl2012 Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
Trust me, my friend; You're not alone. I too have a problem with words...In both literature and in speech. Lol. I tend to ramble on too much, thus making what I write and/or say very boring and hard to pay attention to. ^^; Don't feel too bad.
Surviveroflove Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013
No you are not. There are so many like us that are authors but I learned a trick.
Read, read, read. So many description's and ideas are on one page of a book you haven't opened yet. You don't even have to read. there are audio books and books online. So many times I have had writers block, I start to read a forgotten book... 20 min later I have a whole chapter done.

Just try and see if it will work for you.

Oh and here's a little secret of mine. Im a writer yet I cant even spell.
DEAD-AS-FUCK Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Student General Artist
Don't worry, you aren't alone on this.
artistic-writer Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
On paper, I'm fucking genius (and obviously very humble), but when I talk its like my mouth and my head are reading two different scripts. I stuttered, or forget words, or mumble complete nonsense for no reason other than my mouth not keeping up with my thoughts. Given time, clever could be my middle name, but never on the spot- just put a dunce cap on me and call it a day.

I guess what I mean is, authors aren't going to be great with words all the time. We are thinkers my friend, and sometimes that can make things a little difficult in the 'doing' department. We write to get the best words out, because for some of us, speaking is usually more trouble than it's worth. SO, if you don't have the right words, find them with a pen. Its been my opinion that the better authors are the ones too often deep in thought to speak out aloud. :)
Sugi-chan Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2013  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
 I am the exact same way. In my writing and in my head I speak beautifully, but man when it's time for the words to come out of my mouth. >_< The one thing I hate the most about not being verbally articulate is having to repeat myself all the time. I always feel it's worse the second time. lol
artistic-writer Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
They have classes for that and stuff (speech therapy or something like that) apparently, but I've never really considered it. I figure so long as my point gets across its fine, you know? But if you're feel self-conscious about it, I would suggest that. Practice makes perfect, right? :D
Sugi-chan Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2013  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Oh I never thought about speech therapy. I don't think I have a huge problem with it. And yeah for the most part I usually can get my point across. Yes practice does make perfect or it makes it better. :)
artistic-writer Featured By Owner Jun 5, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
Yup, yup! Wanting to be better is something one should always try to be. :)

no, you're not the only one, don't feel so special, I'm also bad at talking to people, at explaining myself, at expressing my feelings, and I am indeed a writer, so as I said, don't feel so special, whenever you think you're the only one at something, no matter what it is, well, you're not alone, hundreds of other persons might as well be thinkg tha same as you

Just practice, practice a lot. You'll get better and be able to use words better over time. I also suggest reading a lot if you don't already, it can help to show you how to put thoughts together in a story. Best of luck!

I know how you feel. Every time I put pen to paper my characters know exactly what to say, but put me under pressure and I can't ind the words to say to the people I love.
