People should have the right to decide when to quit. But also, think about it. You will make them hurt instead. Is it okay to hurt them this much just so you can get some rest?

If you love someone, let them be free.

If this about suicide then, if you have someone that loves you then you have something to live for. You mean something to someone. If you love them too, don't kill yourself. They will only blame themselves and wonder why they could help you and why they weren't enough for you. There is beauty in the world you just have to open your eyes to it. No matter what the situation is there is always always hope.

If this about terminal illness or something, then you should do what's best for you. I wouldn't wish those final stages on anyone, let alone someone I love. And bless you :huggle:

If you, ST, are not dying anyway from some sort of decease at this point, don't be so cruel as to let your life depend on something that can't be measured and that someone else can never verify.
How much should this person love you? What would be enough? 3 litres? 5 kilos? a cup? two teaspoons?
I would think that one life equals more love than one person can give.

death, is there always waiting...wondering why many wish to end it so soon...why they are so blind to the gifts that are all around them...do not throw away life so quickly, allow yourself time to settle...emotions are dangerous and cloud judgement, free thought
and when bottled up, eventully they destroy not just you...but those that care for you...

Someone said here in the comments: "I wish you loved me enough to live", and I totally agree with that statement. I assume this person is suicidal. If this person succeeds, what is their loved ones going to think? I think if my boyfriend killed himself despite my love and efforts to prevent it, I'd feel like I and my love for him didn't mean sh*t to him.

Sometimes you just have to let go...love should be like that...because you love somebody, you let them go. It's hard, but sometimes it's best

I think i understand this- the song Little talks by Of monsters and men comes to mind. Its of an old couple, one of whom seems to have Alzheimer's. near the end, one ends up dying and not wanting to go but is suffering, and the other shows that they love them enough to let her go.

i usually don't comment on these secrets, but for some reason a quote popped into my head that seemed mildly appropriate

''You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake,
you are the same decaying organic matter as everything else.
we are all part of the same compost heap''

Now that might seem cruel and demotivational, but think of it this way: any reasons you have to end your own life are insignificant in the grand view, social structures? relationships? abuse? depression?
the universe as a whole does not care, so why should you?
why slit your wrists when you could go freeze to death in tibet?
why hang yourself when you could get mauled by a bear in the woods?
why shoot yourself when you could get into a gunfight during a bank robbery?

if you are going to die anyway, have fun with it!
that might sound crazy, but really think about it,
if nothing really matters n the grand scheme of things why should you end your own life?
shouldn't that be an invitation to be truly free?

I dunno thats just me and i could be wrong, maybe this is just the ramblings of a madman who needs to go to sleep before he gets someone killed,
but my basic message i'm trying to get across is:

Don't kill yourself, that is a waste of perfectly good resources... you'll die eventually anyway, just let go, take risks, try to see the brighter side of things, have fun! the fact that you can is reason enough isn't it? Live if only for spite of the universe trying to kill you.:)

I don't think it is really - if you really love someone, you do what is best for them, and respect their wishes, no matter how difficult it is for you to do so. If OP is living in a lot of pain and suffering, they might want to just let go. Thats why things like advance decisions to refuse medical care and resuscitation exist, or euthanasia. It can be very painful to accept that someone wants to let go now and that their time may have come, but it's cruel to force someone to keep living in pain for your own sake.

The secret is not clear on context. I assumed if this were a medical issue to that extent, the secret teller would not be telling secrets on DAS due to the excruciating pain/being incapacitated by their condition. I wouldn't argue to that. On the other hand, I still don't agree you let someone die because you love them, it's supposed to be a humanitarian act. That's separate from love. If someone's in great emotional/mental anguish, but in fine physical condition, do you let them commit suicide because you love them too much to stop them? That's what I took from this secret.

Agreed, they may be physically fine but in mental pain, in which case they should of course be helped. But there are instances in which people are told, for example, that in order to live more than another 2 moths or so, they will need an operation, and then another, and drugs for the rest of their life, and repeated hospital appearances, and there is a list of many things they must be careful to not do, and then they might need yet another operation in 5 years. People could feel well enough to carry on a normal life for now, but know that unless they have the treatment, they will have a slow decline and die in a few months. And they might prefer that to the idea of going through all that treatment and they quality of life they will have from now on.

I wish you could hear me say you're beautiful.
I wish you could see the potential on your life.
I wish you could see that there will always be a sunset, but there will always be a sunrise.
I wish you could know that you're valued, cared for, and loved, and love only wishes the best for you.
I wish you could see how much beauty there is after pain.
I wish you could see a rainbow right now. Or green shoots after a forest fire.

But maybe you can.

You're beautiful.

Maybe you do.

Your life is incredible.

Maybe you do.

The sun is coming up.

Maybe you do.

I love you.

Maybe you have.

You're beautiful.

And maybe you do.

Healing is real<3

I think something is very off about your logic here =/ if someone loved you that much, they'd want you to live, not die.

Well, think about it. If the person you loved was suffering to the point of death, would you want them to continue to suffer or be free of their pain?
