That's a kinda positive way to see things. Just wait for love to arrive again. But understand that love will hurt again as well. Don't forget that.

I think the idea of 'causing' it is what's fundamentally wrong with relationships in the present era. I'm not speaking to the OP in-particular, but I'd really like to see people get away from the idea of 'it was your fault, not mine'.

That in itself shows a lack of perception. This isn't an attack on those who do it, but rather a request to open your eyes to what you're doing. Even if you have no idea what you did, and are 100% sure the other person was being self centered....well, you might be right, but then again, you DID choose that person before getting to know them; that in itself is a mistake.

If you did know the kind of person they were, then you wouldn't date them...since when has it become impossible to simply be friends? No, I'm not a girl; I'm a guy who doesn't understand why people feel that dating is the only way you can be together with someone. We're all insecure, so we try to confirm that we'll always be together by labeling our relationship with 'dating'...or in some cases, 'married'.

If you truly cared for the other person rather than yourself, you'd want to make them happy whether or not they saw you the way you saw them. I'm not saying we all need to be like this, because from what I see people say, this kind of selflessness is nearly unheard of. It seems that almost everyone who invests time into someone else expects it to be repaid in some way or another....It's human nature to expect a return on the time spent in your limited life.

Finding someone you love to be around is, from my experience, one of the most rare and difficult things a human can do. Who was in the right, and who was in the wrong is such a pitiful way to look at it, and I feel as though that's why most marriages crumble...we're so focused on what they can do for us, because hey, we're the main character of our life story...why should we value someone else over ourselves?

Well...apparently we shouldn't, because we are not the one who caused it. We are simply reactions to reactions, incapable of shedding the weight of the words of another.

Bah Humbug.

Hi, whoever this is addressing. I've never experienced heartbreak, or even love for that matter, so I'm not going to pretend like I understand your pain. However, I do see a certain maturity in the way you address the pain, and even though you had to get all the bad stuff out in an irrational way, it's good to know you are moving forward and seeing he light at the end of the tunnel. Not many people can see that light, so it is a wonder when you find that type of person. I have one piece of advice for you; hold on to that hope and never let it go. For one day, you will find a girl who appreciates and can nurture that light inside of you. Best of luck.
