BDSM is interesting, so many people that find it perverse, anormal, how could they even do that or something, but actually it's pretty respectful between both dominant and Submissive.

Im into BDSM, Ill admit it. My bf and I will play around with it and what not when we feel like it~ it's quite addicting lol.

I was terrified of admitting it a long time ago though. I was terrified of admitting any of my sexual interests and preferences because I felt like a freak, like I was different from other girls.

I AM different in a lot of ways, it can't be helped, but BDSM? Eh~ I'm not afraid to admit what I like anymore.

Have you ever been on the internet? BDSM isn't exactly an anomaly, and there are quite literally millions of people who are into it. Nothing uncommon here.

But guys! this isn't complete! they only poured half a bucket of random pre-made text styles in here! You need to dump the whole bucket to be a professional poet. Also make sure the image is a lower quality, the aliasing is too good on this one, not jagged enough. But they really nailed the backdrop! you can't get more bland and effortless than standard white, you know?

I'm actually a lot like you. i'm VERY open about my sexuality and my fetishes and desires.

Personally I wouldn't mind there being a national club dedicated to helping people experiment in new and different fetishes. With a menu or something that goes "Hello, please make the order of what sexual experience you would like today."

Finds this problem rather... American. Am sorry its just the more I talk to people across the Atlantic and Pacific, the more I realize we as Americans still have a HUGE social stigma about sex. Its retarded. All based off some book written god knows when that has been translated again and again to the point that words and whole portions are incorrect. Yes I'm into BDSM but damn, this stuff has been around for CENTURIES.

There were stigmas against certain types of illicit sexuality long before the Bible.

Yes but America seems to be the place where there is a lot of bible thumpers.

And BDSM has been around for quite a while- as well as gays and lesbians... and other things.

Yes, and there were objections to certain types of homosexual intercourse in the ancient Roman world before Christianity came into existence. In fact, Christianity merely adopted a number of extant prejudices against homosexuality. So it's more cultural tradition than a particular religion than is to blame here.

Romans weren't so much about homosexuality as they were about Hebophilia. (Adolescents.)

A.) 'Rome' as in pre-Christian Rome? I don't think you're altogether correct on that matter. I would suggest Bernadette J. Brooten's 'Love Between Women' for a rundown on ancient, pre-Christian Roman prejudices against female homoeroticism in particular. It was a punishable offense.

I was speaking of male homosexuality. Regarding sexual relations between males, they were generally ebophiles, (attracted to pubescents roughly between 14-17, or until they started looking too 'adult.') There were, of course, exceptions to this.

There WAS a prejudice against lesbianism, but I said nothing about it.

There was significant prejudice against sexual contact between adult males, and it did take place. Here, it's best to let the Romans speak for themselves: I direct you to the Satyricon by Gaius Petronius.

the issue is that, in my opinnion, on america stigmas have become quite a profitable bussiness. Good business for, for explample, people who appear on TV saying shit about how sexual freedom and other kind of "anomalies" are a disease that should be exterminated, or on the opposite, people who respect it and say they deserve to be different. Also goverment, that uses this kind of situations to make "weapons of mass distraction" (so if the news are talking about something the goverment doesnt want people to talk about it, they just organize a new law about gay marriage and see how the news focus their attention on that, but at the end this law doesnt make any change, but the effect of such disstraction worked and the real problem they tried to hide was hidden). Among many other good examples of making bussiness with this stigmas.

To Get Help, Why Not Ask For REAL Help Instead Of Posting In Some Group While Wallowing In Your Own Self-Pity?

It's often more comfortable to just kind of talk "out" (especially anonymously) at other strangers rather than go to a certain person. It helps them vent and organize their thoughts without the fear of being judged. And a lot of the time, there’s not really anyone they feel they can talk to.

~TheScorpionLantern: While I understand the need to find some place to vent, we find DA secrets to be a horrible place to do so, a bad idea even.

Why?

Because, and I speak through experience, the people of DA are horrible with criticism, both giving and taking it. Most people when they find something on DA Secrets, their immediate reaction? "Oh, don't feel like that, don't do it!" or "You're so brave to confess that, good for you!"

None of that is helping. Most people on DA can't give proper advice, making things overall worse.

Also, wanting to get raped (especially rape) and beaten is a very, very, bad idea. You degrade yourself as a human being.

I understand that not all people are able to give proper advice and can even make things worse. But sometimes it's just better to vent, no matter what te result, and this I know from my own experience.

The thing is that this is a group that allows people to vent anonymously, so someone who posts something through this group may never even look at it or the comments it gets. It just makes them feel better to put it out there.

And although I don't have any interest in BDSM I'm not going to say that enjoying it makes someone any less of a human being.

Erhem. I already said I have no problem with venting, it's when (equally confused) people begin giving BS advice, or worse, agree and push the person who vented to worse heights.

Also, the point of venting (and this sight) is so other people can witness it and give a damn. Otherwise it's pointless, since your basically talking to yourself, and your not getting any answers from that source.

As for BDSM, no problem there, to each their own right? But what I have to nitpick at is rape, really? There's a reason why rape is considered by some to be worse than murder.

Thank you for this! My boyfriend is into this kind of stuff, and up until recently, I never realized how much he struggled to accept that this was something he liked and that he couldn't change it. People make it out to be such a taboo that for a very long time, he felt he had to keep it a secret. And yes, do learn to be safe about it and know that there ARE people that understand. :)
