Why does almost everyone assume it's about cutting?

Suppressing feelings will come back at you with physical pain such as headaches, stomach aches etc.

(also the emo shit. Because YES, being genuinely depressed/anxious means you're emo nowadays.......)

It's honestly humiliating to the website to have this kind of stuff on the front page every day. Not just on occasion, almost every day it changes there's one of these up there. Even if I'm only giving it more backhanded popularity, I'm going to continue to give this page a poor reputation because it deserves it. If these people want to post their sob stories and make it look like poetry, they can do that on their own pages, they don't get much more anonymity on this page. In fact, they're going to get more negative feedback here than they would if they posted it themselves.

There's one reason these things are always on the front page, and it's because almost anyone with two feet into life can relate to it, even in the least. There are plenty of people who feel unfit to achieve something or feel like they're not good enough for the world. Get the fuck over it people, they don't deserve any more praise or sympathy than the next guy with a keyboard and a common experience. I'd at least appreciate it if it was well written and absent of typos for once.

i have to respectfully disagree, your statement is one-sided and harsh tbh. it's no more my right to say what goes on the front page then you or anyones else. if you don't like what you see a simple x can fix that my friend.

The beauty of this little thing we call the internet. many people out there deal with this everyday, i too did many a day back, and it's not like the internet, a simple click does not make it go away.

I do have good reason to make a statement about it being bad for DeviantART, however. It's the fact that I'm sure a lot of these people post secrets to this page for the popularity it will undoubtedly receive. And it's almost always void of any effort or true emotion. These people need to learn from real artists how to grow and develop themselves as an artist, not post half-assed melodramatic text boxes to an anonymous page. And for what? internal satisfaction? or merely the knowledge that hundreds of other people they don't know will comment on it and it will be all over the front page?

Art is a personal experience, whether it be drawing, painting, poetry, photography, anything. You can experience it with other artists, but if it's something personal, then why do they feel the need to post it to a bunch of people they'll never even talk to? I find it ridiculous and it's the main reason I think this page is just full of itself.

Seriously, don't listen to the haters. I know how it is. You are probably having panic attacks. They cause almost heart attack-like situations. Honestly, the best thing you can do is seek help. I had them too, starting at 17. I'm 27. I've found ways to cope by reaching out to others. I'm not going to lie, some days I still work myself up. I have a loving husband and a Mom who's been there. Find your strengths, let them know, and go get it. It's an uphill battle, but it can be done.
