I think you should follow your head... but get to know him, as a friend. If it doesn't go away, and you really love him, hint at it. If he loves you too, he'll see it :)

Well, there is a part of your brain that associates affection with repeated exposure. That's how we form the earliest bonds in life and major attachments. By spending time with people, we feel closer to them. That's is probably what you experience now. Seeing as you see him Monday through Friday for 190 days of the year (I'm guessing here), there is a high probability that it is that same pattern. The feeling is intensified if you exchange words, even little ones. (As personal statement: Men are like good wine, it takes forty years to age. Just ask my mother. But, like good wine it's worth the wait. :))

Trust me when I say this, if you date at all, you need to be with someone around your own age. Since you're a minor, he could get into big trouble if he did get in a relationship with you. Even if you're sixteen, you're still underage for him, and by law, he would be considered a pedophile, even if he didn't touch you. Guys your age might not seem as appealing right now, but they are a bit easier to handle. A grown man could seem nice, but some take girls and use them for sex. Those girls are never seen again. Even if he's not like that, you don't need to take chances. We live in a dangerous world, so don't be too risky.

A relation ship with that massive age different is often a bad idea, you are a teenage girl, it's probably just hormones and feelings freaking out, maybe he is attractive and you THINK you love him, but you don't. Also, he is a grown man with a life and as job and maybe a house or apartment, it wouldn't be nice for him to be with someone who is still a ''kid'' if you know what I mean, in a nice way.
He probably wants a real women, with a real job, and full grown body, someone at his eye lvl.

Well,
you can't really explore the relationship while you are 16, but if you still have feelings for this man when you are 18,
that isn't too bad of an age difference.
I like a guy who is 30 :) and i am 17.

ST, wait a few years before you try chasing an older man. The age gap itself isn't bad, I'm close friends with many over thirty, but you're basically on completely separate planets for now. Until you've moved out/taken control of your own affairs/got a job/been responsible for 90% of your life, regardless of how well you would/do get along, your lives are too different to match up. It'd be difficult to get anything serious going.

That, and you haven't mentioned anywhere how you "know" him. If you haven't had regular let's-sit-down-and-chat kind of things, I'd question if love is really part of this. Seems more like infatuation (having been there).

Even if sex didn't become part of it, it'd be incredibly easy for someone to say "hey, he's taking advantage of X" and the law would probably be against him.

Pursue him. Tell him how you feel. But if you live in america or a countries like america just be sure to be safe because he could go to jail whether you love him or not.

I get that everyone has this whole "love is love" attitude, but honestly? 16 and 30 are two VERY different stages in a person's life. It would be one thing if they were both adults, but a young girl and a fully grown man are not going to be at the same maturity level and it would cause problems.

Also, does nobody saying 'follow your heart!' stop to consider that if the bus driver DID return her feelings, that he would probably lose his job among other things?

Sorry to all the happy ending all the time people, but sometimes age really is a lot more than just a number.

I love how everyone here immediately thinks "Illegal! Illegal!", making three rather arrogant and preposterous assumptions:

1) That the submitter is American, or living specifically in one of the few countries that has an age of consent equalling 18.
2) That love is equatable to sexual desire and that that is the end stop of relationships.
3) That legality trumps morality.

Now, there may be other reasons why not to pursue a relationship or to show this affection for said bus-driver, such as the fact that; have you even talked to him? Held a single real conversation? Or are you just making up fantasies about him in your head? Is it love or just sexual desire? Before doing absolutely anything, you should ask yourself these questions and probably wait a few months and think it over, and actively try not to obsess over it.

That being said, if you're sure of your feelings - go for it. Always do.

If she is 16 years she should avoid this kind of relationship until she gets more mature. She still is going through puberty and the emotions can be tricky at that particular point of her life.

A 30 year old man is stronger and more independent than her. If she starts a relation with him, he may be someone she's not expecting him to be (agressive, unloyal,e.t.c.) and she can get hurt by a man that's more mature than her. That can become a very dangerous thing!

I would tell her to be very careful and to avoid her feelings the best she can.

Do what you think is best. I this case, you probably shouldn't pursue him...but if you still feel the same once you're 18 or 19, find out about him. Be his friend maybe (casual, like a frequent visitor kind of friend), if he's not married then maybe try for it.

but for now, do the smart thing. You're 16, you're still young and it's still illegal. Once you're legally an adult no one can tell you who to love.

I'm 20, I was 19 when I met my fiance. We've been together for a y ear, my parents love him to death (though they freaked out at first, but once they knew him they were very happy for me and always tell him they love him. My mom even buys clothes for him and he calls them mom and dad lol). He's 35, currently.
Difference is I am of age. I was also careful and tentative about it...but for us it worked out. We're gonna be married in a couple months and are trying to start a family (my mom' hounding on me for a grand kid lol...which is alright because I REALLY want a kid.)

However for you, you are NOT of age, your heart changes (I was in love with a guy for two years when I was your age, 15-17 year old. Everyone in the whole school that knew me and him knew it, he knew it, but he was also my dear friend lol....my heart changed even then. Yours might as well). You also don't know enough about him, I got to know my man. We were friends first, he made me laugh so hard sometimes I'd roll on the floor and he thought it was the funniest and cutest thing lol...Find out about him, wait a couple years, and be careful with whatever you do. That's my advice, from one girl in love with an older man to another.

You should avoid him ST. That is not a relationship you should pursue for you own safety and happiness. He is almost certainly married and the ramifications for him if people suspected anything between you two, even if it is one-sided. People say that age doesn't matter, but it does when the difference is that large AND you are under legal age.

Wait until your eighteen to do anything at all. Any move on your part right now will get him into the worst kind of trouble. My husband was twenty (he's now thirty) and it's pretty bleak that he'll ever hold a job for any length of time, he's scared to give his daughter a bath, he's not allowed to live in most rental homes. We are rent-to-buying a mobile home, but he can't live here with us until we've paid it off (2016) and moved the home to private land (which we then have to buy). It will ruin his life for the rest of his life. Don't jeopardize your schooling for a man whom you will utterly destroy.

Wait until you're 18. Give it some time to make sure this is what you truly want. You may think you're in love with him now, but the heart is a fickle thing. You're young, and you have a long life ahead of you. Don't jump into a relationship like that unless you know for sure its what you want.

Since he's not even your bus driver, the first thing I'm questioning is how you got to developing this feeling for him. Do you guys talk often? Could you consider him a friend? If anything, make sure you know who the person is first. If you don't even have that, you might want to rethink this. And yes, what everyone else is saying is true: this guy has a lot more to lose than you. If you really feel ready to make an intelligent decision to love this person, and not simply have a teenage crush, I'd still advise to keep your feelings to yourself for a while and see how you are in a good year. Don't make a decision that you can't see the long term consequences of, and you'll be okay.

Well, I read somewhere that a crush usually lasts for a maximum of 4 months. Any more than that and it's probably love. I'd tell you to maybe go for it, but because society usually frowns upon age gaps in romantic relationships, I'd suggest try and stay clear first.

But maybe if you find a perfect opportunity...

It's illegal anyways....if they did anything romantic it would be considered rape under the law since she is a minor, no matter if its consenting or not. Plus the huge age difference affects mental and physical maturity as well. It's psychologically unhealthy

Still what? It might not even be love but a simple crush as well. I know that I've had my crushes but never acted on them because it would've most definitely produced bad results. She's too young to understand the full meaning and definition of love. In two years she'll be legal, and will probably grasp the concept much easier
