Ever see a squirrel fall out of a tree, only to dart back up it again? Or a little kid fall off a bike, only to be right back at it the next day? You have to figure out if what you would gain from succeeding is work taking that risk. You can set the bar low start, but keep pushing it a little higher each time.

Most of learning is done by trial and error. You make a mistake, you learn "oh, so that wasn't it," and you try to do things differently next time and see if that works. It's like learning any skill (a sport, a craft, etc)-- you won't be great at it to start with. A good question to ask yourself: do you hold others to the same standard? Would you look down on them for failing at something, or making a mistake? People are people, they goof up from time to time, and that's just a part of being alive. If you understand the shortcomings of others and don't look down on them for it, ask yourself why would you be any different? You're alive too.

Sadly, I feel the same way. I guess I feel that way because whenever I fail at something, I think I'm being judged by everyone, thinking I'm too stupid to even succeed at that. I just start to feel like I'm not good enough to do most things. So I stopped trying. :c

It's allright to be afraid of failing :)
human is never wrong, there is mistakes, but your never wrong.
If you want a happy life, all you need to do is try! :)
if you give up, you will never know what would've happen to you later, you could've meet a nice guy or
get a great job! ♥ You know, i'm 12 years old girl, i love to draw alot, i draw in school and here Da ^^
There is so many people who has bullied me until now, but you know what? when bullies have stopped what they've said, they say ''i respect you for that'' because i say them this: ''You can't tear me down, because i won't never give up''. Hold on and see what future brings you ♥

Ironically, I just watched "Facing The Giants." :D
It's the perfect movie to watch in your situation. Failure may be difficult to face, but it's the only way you get better. And it makes you stronger when you persevere through whatever obstacles you have to face.
I wish you the best of luck in breaking away from this fear of yours. :)

If you don't try, failure is more likely. So, how is that going to help you succeed? Try. It'll help you more than hinder.

"I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas A. Edison.
But I believe the fear of failure has to do with our school systems, testing, etc. Just don't be hard on yourself, and let yourself make mistakes, it'll help you grow.

My life, as of late :<
I think we both know though, that in the end, we'll regret the what if's more than the oh no's. I don't really know what to say but I do hope that you decide (sooner than later) to just go ahead and do it - whatever it is. Failing isn't so bad; you can always try again. And some day, you'll succeed ^-^ Or give up, or whatever. But if you don't even try, you'll never know what could have been. I think I hate not knowing even more than failing, y'know.

Wow oh my god a lot of people are really insensitive. Okay, so what if they're a 14 year old emo kid? This is still a real problem they believe they have. Even if you never had this problem, or if you had worse, fine. Okay. Send in your own beautiful secret or something. Let people fawn over you and make you feel the superiority you need. Don't go hurting someone else just because it's 'childish' to you.
Wow I don't know why I got so worked up. But yeah, something about that just made my blood boil. I thought this was a place you could submit things and have them viewed by a compassionate audience, not a bunch of 12-year old jerks with a self-esteem issue.

I guess this is why some people are reluctant to try and submit their secrets. Because they're afraid these raw thoughts will be ridiculed by other people. I kinda feel that sometimes this has become some kind of competition to let the audience see just how much a person is suffering, and rather than distressing the submitter, it just makes him or her or zir feel much more stressful.

oh yes, exactly! Those are the thoughts I wanted to say but couldn't find the words at the time cuz I was so mad XD. Just because someone wasn't raped/abused/etc or something equally horrifying, doesn't make the other things any less important.

I can relate to this secret very well. I'm always scared to even say something on a lesson because I imagine all these classmates laughing at me. And I see how many chances I lose because of my fears. But I'm trying to fight it and completing challenges makes me believe that it's worth trying. I intentionally go on competitions and events where I have to speak in front of people and even if I'm shaking with fear and forgetting everything, I know why I am there.
Don't think of yourself as of someone who can fail. Don't disrespect yourself. I'm sure there are people around you who think of you as of a brave person and believe in you. We, the users who comment, believe in you even though we don't know you. When you have to face the challenge, think of them. But don't feel like you have to win because of them. They don't demand it, they just want you to be happy and proud of yourself.
Even an attempt is a success. If you won't get what you want at the first time, nothing bad will happen. People will remember nothing, they still get new events to discuss. But if you try, you will succeed - maybe earlier, maybe later. And you will not only be seen as a successful and smart person, you will also fight your fears and that gives power to try even harder.
All the advice sounds so ideal, easy and sweet, while in real life fears are not just abstract words, but feelings that make me paralysed, shaking, crying and I just want to escape, hide and be seen by nobody. I know it and I was, and I'm sometimes still there. But they will slowly fade away.
Thank you for reading a long and boring piece of advice with even more boring bits of my life. And sorry for my poor English nn

Well, there is no such thing as a life without any failure.
If you don't try, you'll never succeed. You'll just keep on failing. Sure, you'll fail every once in a while when you do try, but you learn from your mistakes, and avoid them in the future.
