My friend recently admitted to me that he was asexual. He was brave enough to tell his girlfriend the truth. She now claims that she has to 'cope' with it. It pisses me off to no end! He's one of the most wonderful people I know but she's going to be dramatic over something he that's simply part of who he is. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be asexual in our society. This society is practically built on sex! At the same time, it must be so liberating; being attracted to someone not because you're attracted to them sexually, but because of who they are.

Well it's definately easier for non asexual people to find find people to date, it doesn't mean you can't. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right partner, regardless of orientation. Also there are several Asexual dating sites you can look up if you're willing, full of people who want the same platonic relationships you do.

Not "nobody". There's a fetish for everything, I'm sure you'll find something.

As for finding a sane person, go to an asexual site and talk to the people there and let time be your cupid.

I am an asexual. I tried to be in a relationship with a straight man... He cheated on me because I wouldn't give him sex.... He was the only man to have treated me well... but he just had his own agenda... Now I am in love with my dearest friend... she cannot return the love... I have never felt desire or attraction... But I have been drawn to a person's being. Who they are inside. And that has gotten me so much heartache... I don't want to be alone... not at all... but most people do not understand how I am when I explain it... so I have given up and say, "I have better things to do than dating." but I really want someone there for me... who feels like I do... who can only feel love for who a person really is... and the saddest thing is... no one ever gets to know me. They take one look at how I dress (I like the gothic style) and they just leave or insult me... I have become bitter and cold from this unbearable loneliness... I know exactly how you feel. I pray to every deity in every religion that you may find happiness and love. Stay strong.

in our society we are often showed how things should be, how we should love, who we are expected to be but that is society's opinion, inot truth. be proud of who you are and love who you are in every aspect. if you can do that some one will see what you have to give, and will love you for you. :-)
