Let The Tears FallSometimes it feels so natural
Like the gentle rain of spring
Having tears pour down your face
Washing over everything
I'm not ashamed to let it out
All the emotion kept inside
To have it trickle down my cheeks
It's something I refuse to hide
Just letting go opens my heart
It allows my soul to breathe
But unlike the tears raining down
These feelings will never leave
Sincere emotions make it rain
These same emotions make me strong
I'll never shut my feelings down
I guess I've known that all along
There are times that I'll let go
And let the rain wash over me
It's a deluge coming from within
When I'm like this my heart can see
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 10The next day, my mom and I were at the hospital. I had already to her what The Man in the Moon said to me. She was happy that her wish was going to come true. That her daughter was going to be young and happy forever.
After a couple of hours death came and took my mother. I stood right next to her dead body and started crying. The doctors came to take her body away. I went outside to get some fresh air, I still had tears flowing down my face.
"Yeah, she's gone".
Jack walked towards me and held me in his arms until I stopped crying.
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 5When we finally got back to my house. We went inside and went into my room.
"Wow, you have a lot of books," said Jack.
"Yup, I like to read a lot," I told him.
"Want to play a video game?" I asked him.
"Sure, what game?" Jack asked.
"Super Smash Bros. Brawl"
Jack grabbed the controllers while I got the game set up, and put my glasses on. When Jack gave me one of the controllers, he asked,
" Why are you wearing glasses?"
"I'm far sighted so I have to wear glasses to read or see far away" I told him.
"Okay, now you defiantly look like a nerd," Jack told me while laughing.
"Can we just start playing" I asked impatiently.
I played as Link, while Jack played as Ike. Jack and I were tied we both had beaten each other six times.
"Okay, this is the final round. Who ever loses has to do what the other person tells them to do" said Jack.
"Ok" I told him confident that I would win.
But to m
The Day I Met a Guardian Chapter 8When Jack left, my mom came to spend the night with me at the hospital. She told me something that I wish I didn't hear. She told that she has cancer and that it has spread already too far, which meant she only two days to live.
"Who's going to take care of me, when your gone?" I asked.
"Your Father will take care of you."
" But he lives all the way in Orlando, Florida. We're in Reno, Nevada."
The next day I stayed home that way I could spend the last two days my mom has with her. At 9:30 p.m., my mom was asleep. I stayed up a little longer and watched Terminator 2 Judgement Day. I heard a tap on the window. I opened the window and saw that it was Jack.
Jack came in and watched the movie with me. I wasn't really paying attention to the movie. I was thinking about what my mom said to me last night.
"What's wrong, you seem troubled?" asked Jack.
"Huh, oh nothing."
"Come on, tell me".
"Fine, my mom has cancer. She only has two days to live. When s
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 3On Saturday I went to my backyard to go play in the snow, make a snowman, and a snow angel. As I was walking around my backyard I said
"Next time I see Jack, I should thank him for the snow."
Then I felt a pair of icy cold hands cover my eyes.
"Or you could just thank me right now." Jack whispered into my ear.
I could hear him laughing as I tried to pry his hands off my eyes, but they wouldn't budge. When I finally got his hands off my eyes, I backed away from him a little and threw a snowball at him. After the snowball hit him, I saw that he was giving me a you shouldn't have done that face, then he started throwing snowballs at me.
I hid behind a tree, until I heard no more snowballs being throw. After a few minutes there was no sound, so I went to go see if Jack was still here.
"Jack, where are..."
I didn't get time to finish my sentence cause Jack picked me up and started flying.
"I want you to meet the other guardians" Jack said to me.
"Ok, but where
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 2As I walked back into the classroom I kept looking at the necklace the boy had given to me. I kept thinking about what he meant " You got every single detail right," then I remembered the first graders saying the character I named Frost was Jack Frost. Then it all finally clicked into place, the mysterious boy was Jack Frost.
After school was over I started walking home.
"So did you figure out who I am?".
I turned around and saw him and said " I sure did Jack Frost".
He smiled and responded " Now you see why I was shocked that you could see me?".
"Yeah, I guess you don't really see that many thirteen year olds that still believe.".
Jack walked with me the rest of the way home. He told me what it was like being a guardian. When we finally got to my
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 4When we arrived at the North Pole, I saw where we were going to meet the other guardians. At Santa's Workshop. When we got inside, Jack gave me a little tour of the place. I got to meet some of the elves and yetis.
Jack took my hand and led me to a room where there was a huge globe of the world, and there they were the other guardians.
"Guys, I would like you to meet Carolina Bennett, Carolina this is North, Bunnymund, Sandy, and Tooth."
"Hi, it's an honor to meet you guys," I said a little shyly.
We talked for a while. They told me about how they defeated Pitch, Jack showed them the story I wrote. I wondered how Jack got it, and thought that he might of stolen it from me. I finally got the courage to ask them a question I had been thinking about for a while.
"Is there other ways of getting here besides flying" I asked
"There's always my rabbit holes, mate" Bunnymund said to me
"My sleigh is also a way of getting here" said North.
"There's also the way Jack came the first time"
Life as a Guardian"Jack, I think we should tell them about the Keres"
"No, the Keres turned into black sand the last we saw them and besides North has to get ready for Christmas it's only four days away. We'll tell them after Christmas" responded Jack.
"Fine, we'll tell them after Christmas" I responded.
Jack grabbed my hand and we flew off to go give snow days to children. Life was actually great I was a guardian, I had a boyfriend, and I got to bring joy to children. What could go wrong, oh yeah, there was that suspicion I had that if kids become afraid of what happened in Connecticut then that could mean that Pitch could come back. I hadn't told anyone about that expect for Jack, cause I couldn't keep any secrets from him.
"Hey, I see the kids that you use to help at the park" said Jack.
"Lets go visit, I haven't seen them in a long time" I replied
Jack and I flew down to go and have some fun with them. As soon as they saw us, they started waving. I gave each of them a hug cause I missed them so much
Abandoned ChapelThe parish waits now,
the loneliness of corners
crawling outward on walls--
chipped away by the wind,
and held together
by silk spindles;
cobwebs align them like the membranes of memories,
the cut of a jewel in an broken window
against the sun
where beads of rain
gather in a mesh of strands
a new Mosaic
against the backdrop of a cemetery;
My eyes seek out the sermon
in close proximity,
paint no distance
between headstone and cloud;
elegies topple each other
in their climb to heaven
as light trickles
over the shade,
breathes a new glow over snuffed candles.
I feel the weight in these empty rows,
how a breath couldn't cease to be breath
in the midst of prayer.
