Life as a Guardian"Jack, I think we should tell them about the Keres"
"No, the Keres turned into black sand the last we saw them and besides North has to get ready for Christmas it's only four days away. We'll tell them after Christmas" responded Jack.
"Fine, we'll tell them after Christmas" I responded.
Jack grabbed my hand and we flew off to go give snow days to children. Life was actually great I was a guardian, I had a boyfriend, and I got to bring joy to children. What could go wrong, oh yeah, there was that suspicion I had that if kids become afraid of what happened in Connecticut then that could mean that Pitch could come back. I hadn't told anyone about that expect for Jack, cause I couldn't keep any secrets from him.
"Hey, I see the kids that you use to help at the park" said Jack.
"Lets go visit, I haven't seen them in a long time" I replied
Jack and I flew down to go and have some fun with them. As soon as they saw us, they started waving. I gave each of them a hug cause I missed them so much
The Day I Met a Guardian Chapter 8When Jack left, my mom came to spend the night with me at the hospital. She told me something that I wish I didn't hear. She told that she has cancer and that it has spread already too far, which meant she only two days to live.
"Who's going to take care of me, when your gone?" I asked.
"Your Father will take care of you."
" But he lives all the way in Orlando, Florida. We're in Reno, Nevada."
The next day I stayed home that way I could spend the last two days my mom has with her. At 9:30 p.m., my mom was asleep. I stayed up a little longer and watched Terminator 2 Judgement Day. I heard a tap on the window. I opened the window and saw that it was Jack.
Jack came in and watched the movie with me. I wasn't really paying attention to the movie. I was thinking about what my mom said to me last night.
"What's wrong, you seem troubled?" asked Jack.
"Huh, oh nothing."
"Come on, tell me".
"Fine, my mom has cancer. She only has two days to live. When s
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 10The next day, my mom and I were at the hospital. I had already to her what The Man in the Moon said to me. She was happy that her wish was going to come true. That her daughter was going to be young and happy forever.
After a couple of hours death came and took my mother. I stood right next to her dead body and started crying. The doctors came to take her body away. I went outside to get some fresh air, I still had tears flowing down my face.
"Yeah, she's gone".
Jack walked towards me and held me in his arms until I stopped crying.
The Day I met a Guardian "How about we let Carolina tell us the story she's writing" said Mrs. Williams
All the little first graders wanted to hear what their teacher's aid wrote. I up got from where I was writing my story, and sat down on the chair my teacher left for me. All the little kids came a sat down around me, as I told the story I wrote called The Guardians.
After I finished telling the story, some of them asked if North was Santa Claus, Tooth was the Tooth Fairy, Bunnymund was the Easter Bunny, Sandy was the Sandman, and if Frost was Jack Frost.
I looked at them and " I'm not sure, I guess maybe"
Emily raised her hand and asked " Do you believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, the Sandman, and Jack Frost.
I thought about that question for a while, do I actually believe in them or not. Then I finally answered and said " Yes, I do believe in them. I've actually seen a little proof that their real, but I don't know if I've seen any proof about Jack Frost."
Emily said " If later you do have
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 3On Saturday I went to my backyard to go play in the snow, make a snowman, and a snow angel. As I was walking around my backyard I said
"Next time I see Jack, I should thank him for the snow."
Then I felt a pair of icy cold hands cover my eyes.
"Or you could just thank me right now." Jack whispered into my ear.
I could hear him laughing as I tried to pry his hands off my eyes, but they wouldn't budge. When I finally got his hands off my eyes, I backed away from him a little and threw a snowball at him. After the snowball hit him, I saw that he was giving me a you shouldn't have done that face, then he started throwing snowballs at me.
I hid behind a tree, until I heard no more snowballs being throw. After a few minutes there was no sound, so I went to go see if Jack was still here.
"Jack, where are..."
I didn't get time to finish my sentence cause Jack picked me up and started flying.
"I want you to meet the other guardians" Jack said to me.
"Ok, but where
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 5When we finally got back to my house. We went inside and went into my room.
"Wow, you have a lot of books," said Jack.
"Yup, I like to read a lot," I told him.
"Want to play a video game?" I asked him.
"Sure, what game?" Jack asked.
"Super Smash Bros. Brawl"
Jack grabbed the controllers while I got the game set up, and put my glasses on. When Jack gave me one of the controllers, he asked,
" Why are you wearing glasses?"
"I'm far sighted so I have to wear glasses to read or see far away" I told him.
"Okay, now you defiantly look like a nerd," Jack told me while laughing.
"Can we just start playing" I asked impatiently.
I played as Link, while Jack played as Ike. Jack and I were tied we both had beaten each other six times.
"Okay, this is the final round. Who ever loses has to do what the other person tells them to do" said Jack.
"Ok" I told him confident that I would win.
But to m
The Day I met a Guardian Chapter 7Jack's Pov.
The boys and I thought that we should go attack the girls with snowballs. When we got to the duck pond, I noticed that some of the girls were with their teacher calling for help. The other girls were circled around the pond, but the ice had shattered. All the little girls were safe, except I didn't see Carolina.
I walked over to the girls around the duck pond to ask what happened.
"Carol, told us to get back to snow and we all did, except for Emily. So Carol went to get her and right as she put Emily on the snow. The ice broke and she fell into the water."
I put down my staff and dived into the water to go and save Carolina. When I got out of the water, I was holding Carolina. Her eyes were closed, her face was so pale, and her l
lips were almost blue, but she was still breathing.
I sat down while still holding her, and some of the boys and girls came and sat next. The teacher came with some paramedic's. The paramedic's came and took Carolina to the ambulance to go straight
a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,
much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
