Oh my goodness. My counselor found out that I had an imaginary friend in the first grade. According to her, it wasn't mentally healthy for someone to still have an i.f. by that age.

When we left her office, I told my mom, "Julie [my imaginary friend] was awfully hurt by that comment." XD

She lived in one of my locket necklaces. I have no clue where it is, now. So somewhere out there, is a very ticked off imaginary friend squished in a piece of jewelry.
EVEthelonelywolf Featured By Owner Jun 9, 2013
So you still talk to people like me.
Jeanna-Marie-Keegan Featured By Owner Jun 6, 2013
Well I'm 19 and still have imaginary friends, mostly from my favorite fandoms and characters I've created over the years. It sure helps when I can't get ahold of my friends or need to be alone.

I too have my imaginary friends :3
and it feels good to know that there are many people out there being the same ^^

you're not alone. i'm going to be 18, and my closest friends and family are all my OC's and "celebraties" i made up in my head, or pretend that are with me.

and i will probably always have them. They've been a huge part of my life for years

Actually, daydreaming can make you more productive, better at problem solving, brain storming and even make you happier. I'm well..... over 40years old.
Kaylianaa Featured By Owner Nov 23, 2012
I always imagine scenarios with all my OCs and wish I were one of them, because I don't like my own life.

I have never had imaginary friends, but I wish so badly that I did. It'd give me a lot.
BurningButterfly00 Featured By Owner Nov 7, 2012
Wow o.o a lot of people here want to share.
Perhaps it's also a sign of your creativity, to have imaginary friends.
I daydream, sometimes so strong that I say out loud the dialogue I'm having in my daydream. Kinda weird for whoever sees me. It was strong when I was younger. Now it happens far less... But still... Those worlds and people are a safe place to return to when I'm bored or feel alone.

I don't have imaginary friends, i'm just insane and I talk to myself. Usually arguing so it's not even friends....

nah, i'm kidding, but sometimes when I call myself idiot in my head I say shut up out loud. xD
The-Jelly-Princess Featured By Owner Nov 5, 2012  Student Writer
All of my OCs have become so strong in my mind they've taken real shape and form in my actual life. They're woven into my very being, but few know about them...

Sometimes I talk to them in the middle of the night when nobody can hear me.

And even if I don't physically see them, I hear them, and I know they're with me. :iconblush--plz:

22, and while I made my imaginary friends make a mass exodus during high school, I still keep that little voice in my head I occasionally talk to out loud.

I think everyone still secretly has imaginary friends. I wouldn't be able to live without them!
SilverfiresShadow Featured By Owner Oct 21, 2012
I'm nineteen, and my imaginary friends outnumber my real-life ones. I don't ever intend to lose that friendship.
I'm 20, and I do. I always will. I fear life without them.

Wow. I don't feel so weird now. :D That's where I get my creativity from.

I don't have just imaginary friends, I have an imaginary boyfriend and family. I did try once to not have them and the result was a very depressed woman who couldn't write anything worth a darn. Odd, maybe, but I'm happy. :)

Hey, that sounds a lot like me!! :D It sounds like maladaptive daydreaming. You should google it.

Everyone has imaginary friends, I think. No one calls them that, though.
Even the way you view other people, or yourself, is kind of like an imaginary friend.
When I was little, Mickey Mouse was my friend. 8-)
loveableinsanity Featured By Owner Oct 14, 2012
I have tons of imaginary friends. They're always fun to talk to when people royally tick me off.
