Don't let the fear of losing somebody --anybody-- make you change or not change. You live for your own happiness first. What you change in you, affects you first. If you're truly loved by others, then they will embrace your change, your evolution, your decisions. If not, maybe they don't love you enough. And in the end, that's just not enough.

I completely agree. If this person can't love you for who you are, then they don't deserve you. If you feel that changing yourself would make you better, then this person should support your decision 100%. It doesn't matter how big the change. Changing the color of your hair, trying a new hair cut, or making life changes like improving yourself esteem. Don't let this person hold you back. You are your own person, and you don't need their permission or their approval to make changes you think you need to do. If they love you enough, they will accept you as a whole, despite your flaws or the changes you want to make.
