I know how you feel. I'm both a writer and an artist. I always think I'm good, until I look at my sister's art. Long story short, my art looks unprofessional compared to my sister's art. Even in writing, my sister's stories are always better than mine. But then I remember back to 4th grade where my fictional narrative writing assessment got all 5's, which is the second score you can get on the assessment. Keep writing, anonymous person! I have faith in you that you will become a world-renowned author and write many award winning books!:dance::la:

I cant write OR draw. whatevs. im not good at many things, but i am kinda good at math. whenever i feel crappy, i go do some algebra problems and say "you see that? i bet so-and-so cant solve THAT!" :la:

My friends and siblings are all good at drawing and every other type of art... And I'm only good at writing... My siblings shoot me down. Every time I try drawing, or write something new. A new poem, "Its horrible." "It makes no sense." "I don't like it." or a new story, "It makes no sense, what is the plot?" "Why did you write this?" "It sucks." or try drawing, "hahaha, what is THAT supposed to be?" "That looks weird." "Shes ugly." "He looks like a girl."

I always assumed they were being mean, but really, they knew I could do better. And they pushed until I made it.
Now I draw better than my friends, but there not good drawings, and write even better than before.
Sometimes there not being mean... Just pushing you to go farther when they know you can.

Do what you feel you must do, do it with your heart, do it to satisfy yourself. You and your thoughts are more important, and if you practice hard you'll be good at drawing as well.

Don't be ashamed of writing! I've been a fiction writer for as long as I can remember and I love being able to create and express worlds and characters through words.

I know how you feel about wanting to do something else artistic. All of my friends are amazing drawers, and I get jealous since I'm terrible at it. But even though I can't draw, I'd never give up my passion of writing for anything, and you shouldn't hate what you do.

I guess the best advice i can give you is that no matter what, so long as you truly care about and put your blood, sweat, and passion into your art, its going to be beautiful.

If I knew the author behind this, I would immediately request several pictures and a commission if I could afford it. I know JUST how that feels, and it depresses me every day because I just want to be a painter, a sculptor, anything that my heart desires.

Awww, dearest, you are so lucky if you are able to create art using words!
For you see, I draw semi-well (although my dA won't prove that as my scanner's been down for quite some time), but as far as writing, I'm the only one in my circle of friends who is absolute crap at it. They often look at whatever "poem" I've written and kindly advise that I stick to illustration.

I hate only being a writer too. Everyone in my family does music and I cant even write music. They say they don't want to sit and read "that whole damn book" and so they don't know what I can do. I feel your pain, ST
