I kind of get this, I was never beat for it, but I get yelled at for any noise my parents consider loud. My friends hate it at my house, because we cant do anything.

That's awful and I am so sorry for your pain... I know what that's like.

You may want to try being all by yourself and being as loud as possible. I am a very quiet person but when I know I'm alone and I feel hurt I tend to just scream or make a lot of noise. It's cathartic to me, and maybe will help you find your own volume without being afraid.

I don't know who 'they' are (who is coming for you?) but I get the rest of it. I grew up in a very similar house. My mother doesn't understand crying and she would flip out if you cried in front of her. It made her angry so much that it often turned to violence. Even now, though I've been away from her for nearly six years, when someone is angry or even talking loudly (which = fighting to me) I freeze. I don't want to do or say anything wrong so I say nothing and I try to make myself as small as possible.

I know how you're feeling, and I wish I had a way to make us both better. I'm sorry.

That's cruel and monstrous! I hate the fact that anyone did that to you...

I'm so sorry you went through something like that :( I guess you must've thought about this already but if possible, maybe you should talk to someone about this? You really shouldn't go through something like this alone

oh wow  I'm so sorry! It's absolutely terrible when old memories haunt you, especially memories like that.

These habits are hard to break. I've had similar "must not make any noise" behaviours for....oh, at least 9 years? Sometimes I think I'm just pathetic since my abuse was mental rather than physical/other, but psychology says the effects can be just as traumatic and long-lasting.

I'm glad you've found your way out of such a horrible situation. I hope you find your way to a place where you can be as noisy as you want/need without fear of reprisals.
