Yeah, I did the same and weird thing is that he cut his hair short to when we broke up. It's been a year now he still cuts it and I trim it.

My ex preferred my hair long, and so do I. But after we broke up, I cut about five inches off. It was still within my range of liking, but he would've said it's too short. It was the best I've felt in a while. :-) Here's to liberating hair cuts!

My ex boyfriend kept wanting me to get rid of my mohawk
two weeks after we broke up I cut it off and trimmed off the last of my dyed hair, kept it my natural color for a few months. Now instead of dying it black all the time I've been going red (I'm naturally a brunette)
thankfully my current boyfriend likes my short hair, and doesnt care if I let it grow out or not. also he likes me as a redhead, but he's seen my hair all over the rainbow *shrug*

My ex likes my hair long, too. I'm growing it out for myself, though, cause I think it's sexier that way. I've colored it though, to change things up a bit. :)
