I couldn't see a Christian who calls their self a Christian and actually loves living out the teachings of the Bible being able to be in a relationship with anyone other than another of what I just described. Why? Because when something is really important to you, so important that it is your life, it would drive you nuts to be around someone who thinks that which you put so much faith in doesn't even exist. Or it would to me, anyway.

Remember: An athiest hating people for following religion is jst as bad as as someone religious hating you for being athiest.

Lovely, there is the religion discussion messing about in the affairs of love again. I wish religion's value would be lowered substantially and people were revalued again. Who honestly cares about what set of rules someone chooses to live by? Either you accept that someone abides by some restrictions because it is beneficial to him/her... or you don't.

If they can't seem to be able to choose... does that makes them better or worse people? Does that _really_ make them less interesting?

That's not actually the point of religion. Though, it does seem a huge number of religious people are under the opposite impression.

I think I was not making a point about religion in my comment. :confused:
I was stating that the 'religious discussion' (either believing in religion a, b, c or not at all) interferes in te way people seem to judge others.
I myself don't mind religion at all.

I'm just saying religion isn't quite what you seem to think it is. "Abiding by some restrictions because it is beneficial" is indeed not something that should seriously affect how you value any given person, but "abiding by some regulations because it is beneficial" is not religion.
Doesn't mean your original point is incorrect, of course, just the way you tried to make it.

Oh right, I see your point now. I think I should have abstracted 'religion' just a little differently. In my defence, I was rather tired when I posted the comment.
Indeed religion brings with it a whole lifestyle and viewpoint on how to treat the world and others and whatnot.
Thanks for the perspective :D

Out of these, i'd say "viewpoint" is the key element. :=}

I find people generally more interesting when they are devout about religion. However I also find that I can't stand them as people. Interesting yes, friends?? No. Everybody says faith shouldn't matter in any sort of relationship between people, but it always does.
