When we're teenagers we all have that selfish + I-hate-my-parents phase. I'm sure you'll learn about patience soon and all this will be forgotten.

(Why are you all so rude about this post ? Don't you read the description for additional info? I mean, she/he's not a criminal or anything.

If I ever send a secret I'll be sure to never enable the comments.)

Erm.... It would be nice to take a look at the description...
"Each secret can be a regret, hope, funny experience, unseen kindness, fantasy, belief, fear, betrayal, erotic desire, feeling, confession, or childhood humiliation."

Never mentions anything about having it to be life problems...

I don't see "thing about your mom" listed there. I suppose "childhood humilation" could maybe count, but not really.

Whoa, calm down! As far as I know, we can write nearly everything at DAS, no? It doesn't need to always be about mutilation, loneliness or sexual trauma. Some small things that seems stupid can still be frustrating, and since it sounds stupid, he/she doesn't tell it to anyone and it ends up here.

And who are you to judge people, anyway?

I don't care for DAS in the first place, and "my mom plays video games" shouldn't be a life-ruining issue.

She's probably just interested in your activities and wants to show it by playing games. I also have a terrible patience when my mother wants to look up things on the internet, because she never remembers how to browse it even though I explained her many times over.

She's not annoying you because she doesn't love you.

outch becouse it it's his/her time?
that's the shittiest reason ever
a mother spends a lot of time for her child (usually and works for it, makes dinner/lunch and those sutff)

and when a mother wants to play onlinegames and needs a lot of help and doesn't understands stuff after the 7. time
(had the same prob) and she still wants to play (didn't had that prob)
it should be said and then you make a list with the over and over again questions
done

God damn, I wish my mom played modern video games. She tried once but she's just really awkward and clumsy with the controls, honestly I found it hilarious but I didn't want to laugh at her because she was very frustrated.
But then she'll pull the Atari out and kill me at centipede in front of everyone.

So don't be hatin' on your mom, man. You only get one of those.

Also, the wire is coming out of the wrong end on the mouse. ahah.

:iconbitchpleaseplz: Try having a family where you're the only one that plays video games. If they do play, you beat them at EVERYTHING and is not fun, but if they don't, you get lonely, :( and then your father gloats about how you got so good, saying crap like "You must have learned it from me". In fact, I like explaining controls because I'm helping them become better gamers.

I hate explaining controls, or learning them. That's why I always read instruction booklets, instead of figuring it out on my own. If it's really that unbearable, I suggest you ask her to read it, or have her watch you while you play.

Look at it this way... She's making an effort to bond with her son, appreciate it.

Consider this:  your mom might be asking all these questions about your interests in order to spend time with you, while not making it seem cheesy and boring.  Not saying that she doesn't like games, but she might be indirectly asking you to join her in something she knows you both enjoy.

nnng I have the same problem with my dad, he's great at the old fashioned games like pac man {Oh god can he kick my butt at those racing games} but he's really bad at first-person shooters. If your mom is similar, then you can fart around with the settings until you get it to third person. Otherwise you can tell her the overall controls for a lot of the games and teach her how to effectively use the mouse/controller/all that nonsense. With my sister I just yell at her to figure it out herself when I'm really fed up with her, but somehow I doubt that'll work for her. You might be tempted to watch over her shoulder constantly, but if you refuse to help her for a while, she'll adapt and start learning it herself. Some people are less inclined to learn and she'll get better at learning over time. God, I make it sound all sciency! I'm just like GLaDOS sometimes, jeez! ANYWHO, explain it to her once, and if she doesn't get it, tell her "That's how I can explain it, and I really can't explain it another way, but you can google ______ and see if that helps"  or something along those lines. You could also say "Gaming is about learning how to deal with the problems yourself, Mom {Or how you refer to your mother} and if I help you with everything you won't learn anything." or some variant. If you say either of those, please don't do so scathingly. Mom vs. You battles always suck eggs, and people have a tendency to blow things out of proportions. Most important: Remember, they're just games, and if they really suck up that much of your time, tell your mom that, and ask her to leave you alone for your designated 'you-time', because God knows we all need it XD Good luck!

That was awesome. Breaking down the situation and, yes, making it sound sciency. The GLaDOS reference was just an added bonus.
